Michael met Eric during one of his first visits to Nashville. The two quickly became close friends, and found their disparate backgrounds enhanced their songwriting collaborations...not to mention, Ochs introduced Eric to the Jewish delicacy of Matzah Ball Soup and Heatherly opened Michael's eyes to the Southern favorite of country-fried steak with biscuits and gravy.
In 2000, Eric's debut CD on Mercury Records, "Swimming In Champagne" contained 3 Ochs/Heatherly collaborations! The album reached the Top 40 on Billboard's Country Album Charts and his cover of "Flowers On The Wall" hit #5 on Billboard's Country Singles!
